About Josh

Hello! My name is Josh Engel and I specialize in automotive photography. I’ve been photographing cars since 2008 and I’ve been heavily involved in the drift scene since 2010. Coming out of high school if you told me I would want to be a photographer for a living I would have laughed. I thought I was going to be a computer programmer. Once I was in college I quickly changed my mind. Sitting in front of a computer all day staring at code was not what I wanted to do for the rest of my life so in my first year I switched to a CIT Visual Media Design degree. From there I fell in love with photography when I took my first digital photography class. I took a few more, but honestly most of my skills were self taught before I learned them in class. I was that excited about creating awesome images. I owe it to my professor Ron Stevens my friend Javier Santiago and my favorite photographer Chase Jarivs for being huge inspirations in my life when it comes to photography.

I have worked a lot on my own, but I’ve done work with Major League Gaming, EverythingDrift.com, Drift Indy and the Midwest Drift Union. My goal is to document the world of drifting in the United States and help spread this amazing sport to as many people as possible.

I still do general automotive and motorcycle photography as well which you can also see on this site. I also dabble in model photography and general videography too.
